Groundbreaking tips for weight loss after Diwali

Diwali is the perfect time of year to indulge. As friends and family celebrate  together and sweets are extravagantly distributed, high calorie temptation is just next to you. And IF you are fighting the battle with that extra bulge of yours, making a tremendous effort to keep your weight and health in check then surely difficulty bar raises for you. When all your aunties visit at your place and forcefully put that piece of kaju katri in your mouth saying 'kha le beta,Diwali hai!!' All you do is just open your mouth and think kuch meetha ho jaye for all those delicacies because of Maa ka pyaar and aunties ka dulaar.

It is 100% impossible to deprive oneself  with all those chakli and ladoo in the midst of all celebrations and joy.
Thus a post Diwali detox is obligatory. What you eat after diwali can undo those extra kilos easily.
So here are a few tips about how would you lose those kilos and embrace your healthy lifestyle once again.

1• CUT DOWN SWEETNESS:

You've had more than you were supposed to and your body is full of sugar*sugar * sugar* everywhere. So just restrict your sugar intake for a next few days. Ensure that you dont add unnecessary sugars and satisfy your cravings with natural sugar available in fruits.
Eat apples as they are naturally sweet and help in satisfying your cravings.

2• AWAY FROM BEAVRAGES:

Drinking all those packed juices and cold drinks and energy drinks not only adds sugar to your system but also makes you prone to type 2 Diabetes.
Drink plain water for a week or so, especially right after Diwali, when your body is already saturated with sugar. You can then slowly cut these drinks out of your daily diet. If you can't avoid your cup of coffee or tea, removing just two teaspoons of sugar can save you an extra 30 calories a day, which can add up to a kilo of weight loss every year.. And if you really are used to packed juices then try making them at home fresh, but eating fruits over juices is always a better option. This is because the fruit may lose some of its nutrients and essential vitamins  when it comes in contact with air. So better eat the whole fruit than the juice.

3. EAT LIGHT BUT FREQUENTLY:
Eating light food throughout the day with milk in the morning can make you feel fuller and milk will also manage the protein quotient in your diet

4• ALL FOOD IS GOOD:
Do not complicate food. Food freshly prepared at home with love is what works. Dont overload  your stomach or starve.. just eat what you love to , but with certain amount which your body can manage to metabolise.

5•KEEP YOUR BODY HYDRATED:

Drink at least 10 glass of water daily so that it helps to revitalise your body and makes your metabolism quick. You will start feeling more energetic if your body is well hydrated.

6. WORKOUT:
There's no escape. Workout!! Hit the gym or excercise at home. Excercise not only combats diseases but also stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed.

Its absolutely fine to eat sweets and fried during Diwali. Its best to enjoy it in quantities you will be comfortable with so that you dont feel stuffed in your stomach and guilty in your head.

How many of you really want your brain to work?? If you truly wish that your brain should work...then you need to eat a good kind or you can say good quality of carbohydrates. If you want that your  brain-derived neurotrophic factor should keep you brain working and you should be smart and intelligent and not dumb and unintelligent you need carbs for that. It allows you to use your reasoning and intelligence  skills in your daily day to day activities. So if you really want your brain to utilise that BDNF, your body needs rice.

So here comes a question.. which type of rice should you eat? Brown rice or white rice?
Answer to this question is - White rice or any local rice available in your locality.

WHY WHITE RICE?

•Because White rice has adequate amout of fibre which our body needs.

•It helps in absorption of Iron and Calcium and doesn’t  hinder its assimilation.

•It has Insonitol which is fat burning.

•Its good for your skin. If you are on an anti ageing diet plan hunt, with all those cosmetics claiming to make your skin look younger and beautiful and on the other hand you are avoiding rice..Stop that!! Because rice has a anti ageing property. It reduces the wrinkels on your face. Even rice prevents premature wrinkling..

•It also prevents your stomach from bloating.

SOME  MYTHS ABOUT RICE:

•RICE IS BAD FOR DIABETICS

Rice when traditionally eaten in the indian way with dal, dahi, sabzi is great for diabetics.

•REPLACE RICE WITH WHEAT

Replacing rice with wheat is not a good idea since it means reducing your intake of amino acids and also vitamin B.

•BROWN RICE IS BETTER THAN WHITE  RICE.

Brown rice contains bran which is more difficult to digest on everyday basis. White rice on the other hand has easily absorbable starch.

IMPORTANCE SINCE AGES

Ayurveda uses ricebased diets in treating various imbalances in the body. Dal-chawal is a nutritious meal, the entire spectrum of amino acids, vitamins and minerals. It also accelerates fat burning. In fact, the essential amino acid methionine found pre-dominantly in rice helps mobilize fat from the liver

Eat rice the way you want it, eat it as often as you want but surely in the quantities which will leave you feeling light and energetic and not heavy and lethargic. Make food your friend and not your enemy.

Your Diet Doesn't Have To Be Hard.Keep yourself motivated with any of these 4 easy ways

When people start with their diet plan, they are usually very much motivated and excited about the new diet for a few days, but tend to lose their motivation after a few days or weeks. So how should one stick to the planned healthy lifestyle, without losing motivation?

1•DONT CONSIDER IT AS A DIET.

Healthy Lifestyle.

Consider it as a lifestyle. When you are not on a diet you tend to eat anything you like pizza, hamburger, burritos you visit MacD or just tend to buy some fast food stuff on the go..But when you go for your diet, you think about it as its not natural. Once you do it for a long time,it becomes automatic, just as you brush your teeth early in the morning..its not a conscious thought process that you are going through. The same is for DIET and EXERCISE.
Researchers have found out that it takes approximately around 66 days for you to build up a new habbit and to make it automatic.
Change your mindset. You can't think about it as a diet or a temporary part of your life. It needs to be your lifestyle.

2• SET  YOUR GOAL.

Set your goal

Your goal can be a wedding or a function you have to attend.. or simply a vacation somewhere around the globe. Its really important to set a goal and stick to it so that your goal makes you aware that you have to keep going.

3•REWARD YOURSELF.

                              Reward time

Just create a reward for yourself for  achieving your objective. But do remember don't reward yourself with big 2 or 3kg chocolate cake or a large size pizza with  extra cheese on it. Because its sabotaging your goal. Its not at all encouraging you.. So what will your reward be then?? A great reward would be a fitness vacation or a new fashionable outfit or a workout outfit. Whatever  it is, let that be encouraging you, reinforcing you towards your healthy lifestyle.

4• CHEAT MEAL.

On the cheat day

Now what about the food which you shouldn't be eating? All that tasty delicious food but nutritionally  useless which you should totally restrict yourself from eating but you wish you could sit around and eat it all day!! Now do you ever get to eat those kind of food again?????  The answer to this question is obviously 'YES'.Cheat meals are all about helping you stick to your diet.
The most common reason people fail to reach their goal (or
fail to maintain it afterward) is because they stop eating.
the way they need to be eating. So, what often ends up happening is that people feel
deprived and generally pissed off and annoyed because
they miss eating the foods they really enjoy eating. And
what happens next? They go off their diet and start eating
them.
So, for that reason, there are no specific guidelines for

cheat meals.. But only what I do recommend however, are two general guidelines:
1. Don’t go too crazy.
2. Don’t do it too often.

No!! This is not a cheat meal.
 (Source:Pintrest)

What I mean is, have a few cookies, not the entire box.

Have a slice or two of pizza, not the whole pie. For most of the people, most of the time, 1 or 2
cheat meals per week is the maximum.
Whatever you end up doing, using or avoiding
cheat meals, it’s the right decision for you as long as your are succeeding in your goal.
All the best  ...
Eat right. Stay fit.
